What snow?

My grass is green. It was only a couple of weeks ago that there was two feet of snow all over our property, and now not only is it all gone, the grass is still green. As a matter of fact, it's as green as it's been all year (think about that for a second).

We were late sending out Christmas cards this (last) year. I didn't send some until Dec 28. We received quite a few cards with annual letters included, as well as many personalized cards (photos of kids or families). All were very nice, and it's great to hear from people, but it got us thinking - perhaps we should send out a personalized card next year, perhaps a picture of us, or the cat. Or, maybe we should write a letter. I initially thought that no one would want to read our letter, but then, I blog, so what do I care? Also, I post almost every picture I take to Flickr, so clearly it matters not to me if people read it or look at it - I'm going to do it anyway. =)

So, given that I've already bought Christmas cards for this (next) year (and funny ones at that), I think I'll be writing a letter. We may include a paragraph or two on "here's what you've missed if you're just joining us" to bring people up to speed on the events of our lives pre-2008. Postage may be a problem.

We've already got big plans for this year:

- next week - Dean arrives from Lima
- April - Mexico, Hitesh turns 40, family visiting from Newfoundland, I may go to Ethiopia
- May - Dean comes back from Newfoundland and heads to Lima, Karen goes to Ukraine
-June or July - David and Elaine are coming from Labrador for a few days, I may go to Ethiopia (it's a toss up between here and April)
- July - we are going to Newfoundland for Dustin's graduation ceremony
- August - Trout Lake, maybe
- October - our 15 anniversary, Karen goes to Calcutta
- November - I've got to start a Christmas letter, which will be no simply task.

Maybe I'll just send a link to the blog. =/

Can I just say MERRY CHRISTMAS now? And then be like REALLY ahead of the game?

Spoke to Dean very briefly on the phone the other night ... I thought about being offended at how quickly he handed off the phone, but I decided it's too much energy.

Dean - hope your visit home has been TREMENDOUS - say hi to Peru from me!
